What is the March for Life? " On Jan. 22, 1973, the U.S. Supreme Court's Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton decisions legalized abortion on demand nationwide. Each year, pro-life Minnesotans mark the anniversary of Roe and Doe with the MCCL March for Life at the state Capitol in St. Paul. The purpose of the March is to commemorate the 60 million+ lives lost to abortion (and the women and men who have been hurt as a result) and to call for renewed respect and protection for all members of the human family, including unborn children and their mothers.
